I think he would be a better manager in the prem, he said, he still has unfinished business at blues.

Stu Francis, Jan Francis, Kevin Francis, Francis De Le Tour, Francis Drake and even Saint Francis could do better than McNoprawnballs

IMHO I do not think given the constraints by the then Board that ANYONE would have done better......does anyone actually think a Manager like Sir Alec Ferguson could manage a team built on accepting the best that the "Shister's" allowed McLeish to buy.

It's ok for Ferguson with there history........achievements............and money isn't exactly the real world of CCC.....league 1 & league 2 etc etc etc.

I think Man Utd with there team wouldn't do badly WITHOUT a Manager it virtually picks itself every week.

I think he would do well in the prem.

I love dhis style of footbal, I think he lost it in the end though with blues, such was his desperation to get us into the prem

Are we talking about the same Trevor Francis, that played 451 in the first leg of the play off semis against Barnsley? It was only the second time we had played that formation all season, and we got hammered. So i think i would say thanks but no thanks. legend as a player, poor as a manager

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO........Francis back at Blues-I'd rather bring back Garry Pendrey or John Bond that money-grabbing idiot!!
Purse launches it into the village idiots area deep into injury time, it's flicked on by Forsell to Morrison who, with his back to goal, turns and shoots, it's parried by Sorensen but here comes John............IT'S THERE.................

Imho McLeish got us promoted, it doesn't matter how, he did (something Trevor Francis couldn't do) so we should allow him a fair crack at it with proper investment from Yeung then judge the bloke

Although the statement above is currect 'Eck did get us promoted albeit just last year it was job done... but you have to look at the players 'eck had at his disposal compared to TF although under TF we probably had one of the better sides in the division which was shown by the 3 play-off appearances.

McLeish's side:

Taylor

Carr
Jaidi
Ridgewell
Murphy

Larsson
Carsley
Fahey
Bowyer

Phillips
Jerome

Then you add all the others we had on loan sinclair, quincy, bouazza etc. etc.

Compared to TF's side:

Benno

Rowett
Purse
M. Johnson
Grainger

McCarthy
Hughes
O' Connor
Devlin

Adebola
Furlong

Then obviously adding the rest as we did above Ndlovu, AJ, Holdsworth etc. etc.

McLeish's side is in my opinion far better equipped to gain promotion!! So comparing the two like that does not really work!! (however right it is!) McLeish's side frankly on quality should probably have won the league and certainately should have gotten promoted whilst the TF sides were never really favourites for promotion and at best were always 3rd-7th best in the league even in quality wise. IF you look at it TF really done a good job for the club first major cup final since 1963 albeit in what turned out to be in his last full season in charge. Something 'Eck is yet to manage! (in fact he is yet to even get us past the 3rd round in a cup!) I actually think they are both about equal at this point given the respective achievements, squad's available, money available etc.
